Seamless experience at the embassy. Took ~2 hours in total despite huge crowd. There's a place to keep your electronics which charge 100 rs. per item, so better to only carry mobile phone with you and keep it there.

Had my visa interview appointment at the Consulate. The overall experience was great. The most often asked questions about mobiles, smartwatches, laptops, tablets - best not to carry. Not really required. I didn't carry. There is off site storage available for some fee, but didn't check it out. No storage at the section itself. Processing is smooth & pretty straightforward. Seeing the number of applicants & workload, would say rather well run process.

Today We (Me & My Family) had an appointment at 9:30 a.m. for B-1/B-2 Visa. We reached around 8:45 a.m and didn't found any Place to Park my car. Thanks to the Security Guard outside embassy who told me not to carry Mobile, Smart watch and Ladies Purse as these things are not allowed in U.S Embassy whereas it is Permitted in VFS even for U.k & EU rounds. Anyways, I parked my car at Yashwant Place Parking which is close by and kept everything in car and booked cab for the destination. Before coming for interview I was told by Travel agent that whenever You travel in any of FIVE EYES countries (U.K, Australia,Canada,U.S & Newzealand) Your data is shared with all of them. So I was Positive that atleast this check box is ticked for me. At the entry DS-160 form was thoroughly checked and were frisked. Security was very tight and till the entry building all were Indian Professionals. They are highly vigilant for security reasons. Since the queue was long, we were asked to sit. My son took coldrink and mother took coffee, there was nothing to eat except drinks. After around 45 mns, our turn came and the Visa officer asked for the Passport. The first question she asked was Why U.S? and wats the Purpose? She was scrolling something on Laptop so there was no eye contact. The other question came immediately Where will You stay and when will be the outbound flight from U.S? Again no eye contact. Now, She looked in my eyes and asked why are you travelling alone, Why not with Your Spouse and Child? I smiled & Politely replied they are there getting interviewed on the next window. She called my wife and Cross checked. Then She asked if my wife is Working or Home Maker? I said Home Maker. Then She asked me about Business Income, Source of Funding and She checked Travel history in both my old Passports and asked if anytime, I have been deported/Army background if Any. It took around 1:30 hrs for the wrap up. And finally, with a smile She said Visa Approved, Enjoy Your Trip. So some

Today 6th November 2025 my experience at the US embassy was very good. My timing was 8:30 and I reached there at 8 and within 25 to 30 minutes went inside the embassy, the atmosphere was very calm and disciplined. After some time it was my turn for the interview. The officer who was taking my interview was foreigner and very humble. He wished me well and I wished him same after that he asked me why do you want to go, where will you stay, with whom will you go, asked about my business and funds for expenses, after few more questions he smiled and said your visa approved.. I am so happy...

Highly secured place, I was checked througly 2 times one by the security outside and then by the security inside. You can keep your mobile in the opposite counter they take around Rs. 50 for mobile. Take out your passport and move forward the gates and doors are quite heavy to open need to push them hard😅. I was bit nervous that day, but it was done. And don't try to take pictures infront of security guard they might take your mobile.

Reached the consulate 1 hour earlier but it’s not required if you have person who can hold your digital devices like Smart Watch, AirPods and smart phone. There is no luggage locker available at the location but small lockers for digital devices available. There is big queue for depositing the devices so go early. We need to wait for our slot at the place under the tree opposite to consulate. Security guard will come and call the people based on the time slots given. Once your slot called then we need to goto consulate queue and wait for checks. First check is passport and DS160 matching and biometric stamp. There is waiting area of 5 line seating and need to wait over there. After your line called, we will enter the consulate building and there again Passport only checked. After passport is checked, second check is at the counter where bio metrics information related validated and give a node for interview. After this, need to join in visa interview line. USA interview takes 5 min with of queries and done. Visa officer will share that Visa issued or not.

I visited the U.S. Embassy New Delhi on 5th January 2026 for my B1 visa interview. My appointment time was 8:20 AM, and I reached the embassy around 7:10 AM. Applicants are required to wait outside the embassy until their specific slot time is called, so arriving early is helpful. Electronic items are strictly not allowed inside the embassy. However, you can carry your documents file and wallet without any issues. There are locker facilities available outside the center, which is very convenient. The charges were ₹100 for a mobile phone and ₹50 extra for each additional electronic item such as a digital watch or earpods. The overall process inside the embassy was very smooth and straightforward. The staff was organized, and the flow of applicants was well managed. Washroom facilities are available inside, which is a big plus, especially during early morning appointments. There are also snack options available both inside and outside the embassy, which is quite convenient if you have a long wait. Overall, it was a well-organized and hassle-free experience, and everything moved efficiently from entry to exit.

The U.S. Embassy experience was well organized and smooth overall. There is usually a lot of rush, so make sure you arrive 1–2 hours early. The process inside is very smooth and systematic. Keep in mind that no bags and no electronic items are allowed, so bring only your documents. For C1/D visa applicants, you only need your passport and joining letter—nothing else. There is an auto stand right in front of the entrance. If you are carrying a bag, they will take you to a locker shop. Be aware that the locker shop charges ₹300 and the auto also charges ₹300, which is quite expensive considering the locker shop is only a 5-minute walking distance. If you arrive early, ask any auto driver to let you walk instead—they will escort you, and it takes just 5 minutes.
